Moscow HNWI Market Reaffirms Leadership With Successful Launch of the Shorex Wealth Management Forum Moscow 2013

Hosted for the first time in Moscow last week, the Shorex Wealth Management Forum attracted 180 professional investors and private client advisors. Expert information and quality networking pulled by a boyant Russian private client market were at the core of the succes of the Shorex Forum which will be held again next in Moscow.

Shorex – organisers for the last 17 years of some of the most prominent wealth management events in the world - hosted a successful new wealth management forum in Moscow on 24th April. The success of the event demonstrated the still a huge potential for private wealth managers with the Russian market due to two main factors: Moscow’s steady growth as a financial centre, and over one thousand UHNWIs (people who hold at least US$30 million in financial assets) in Russia with a combined wealth in excess of $600bn, most of them living in Moscow. Moscow is the billionaire capital of the world with 84 of the richest men in the world ahead of New York City with 62 billionaires and London and Hong Kong tie for third place, with 43 billionaires each.
Examining the latest wealth management trends, the event acts as a platform for third party buyers interested in financial instruments and tax planning opportunities aimed at Russian HNWIs and UHNWIs.
The delegates – mostly family offices, private bankers, asset managers, tax planners and professional advisers - were we met by the 15 financial centres, fund managers, stock exchanges, Forex brokers, fiduciaries and trust companies, to compare notes on the direction of the market and find out what’s new in terms of financial product development and wealth structuring for ultra-high net worth Russian clients.
Presentation included comparative analysis of financial centres, setting up dedicated investment funds, commodities including gold and diamond, ETFs, Forex, citizenship and investor residence programmes, as well as a wide range of tax planning opportunities for real estate investment and asset protection.
